Read This Before It's Too Late: What the Rapture Means to You

The Rapture: That moment when Jesus returns to take with Him all Christians who have trusted in Him as their Lord and Savior. There are no prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled before the Rapture. It could happen at literally any moment.

The Bible describes the Rapture in this way: "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

This triumphant gathering of believers is further described in 1 Corinthians 15:50–54. Scripture says in the "twinkling of an eye," the dead in Christ will be raised to life. Christians who are still alive when the Rapture occurs will then be swept up into Heaven along with them.

A glorious future is promised to all who have believed in Christ. They will receive perfected bodies as Jesus escorts them to the place He has prepared for them in Heaven, where they will rejoice in His presence forevermore.

Those left behind on the Earth will face a horrific time of Tribulation marked by God's judgment and Satan's chaos. After seven years of unprecedented death and destruction, Jesus will return to reign on the Earth.

The promise of the Rapture is given to offer hope to the Church—everyone who places their trust in Jesus Christ. He has promised to rescue His Church from the coming wrath, but the Bible says the wrath of God abides on all who reject the Son and His offer of salvation (John 3:36).

If you have believed in Him unto salvation, Jesus is your blessed hope. Christians eager for the Rapture are able to "encourage one another," as they await a crown of righteousness (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

But if you don't know Him as Savior and worship Him as Lord, Jesus will be your holy terror when His wrath is poured out during the Tribulation and at His Judgment Seat at the end of His 1000-year reign.

If the Rapture has not occurred yet and you are a Christian, you still have time to share the Good News that Jesus has paid the penalty for sin with every person you know or meet.

God has delayed gathering the Church to Heaven to give you time to fulfill the Great Commission.

Time is running out!

"Now is the acceptable time… now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2)

If you are reading this and you have not yet trusted Jesus as your Savior, do not delay!

Whether or not the Rapture has already happened, you are not promised another day or hour. You are either under the grace of God or the wrath of God—there is no alternative.

God does not want you to perish. Even as He pours out wrath, He offers mercy (Habakkuk 3:2).

Turn from your sin and run in to the loving arms of Jesus right now.
